The Gym in Swinton
That Actually Coaches You.
Atlas PT is a small group training gym on Manchester Road, Swinton — two specialist training spaces, expert coaching in every session, and a maximum of six members per coach.
Most gyms in Swinton and the wider Manchester area hand you a lanyard, show you the changing rooms, and leave you to figure the rest out on your own. Atlas PT was built to be the opposite: a gym where every session is coached, your programme is written for you, and someone who knows your name notices whether you turn up.
Two Specialist Training Spaces Under One Roof
Gym A — Strength & Physique is purpose-built for getting strong and building muscle: barbells, racks, sleds, and strongman equipment, with coaching on technique every step of the way.
Gym B — Conditioning & HIIT is built for engine work and fat loss: air bikes, rowers, kettlebells, and metabolic circuits, coached at an intensity that matches your current fitness rather than someone else's.
One membership covers both spaces. You build your training week around your goals — strength, conditioning, or a mix of the two. See how Atlas compares to a commercial gym.
Not a Typical Swinton Gym
The budget gym model works on one assumption: most members stop coming. Our model is the reverse. With a maximum 6:1 member-to-coach ratio, every session is run by an expert coach who checks your technique, adjusts your programme, and holds you accountable. It's the personal attention of 1:1 personal training with the energy — and the price point — of training in a small group. If you want the coaching side of things in more detail, see our personal training in Swinton page.
Coaching Pedigree You Won't Find in a Chain Gym
Atlas PT is led by Head Coach Rik Partridge — Lead Performance Coach for Team GB Weightlifting at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics, the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and the first Invictus Games. He holds a BSc in Exercise and Health Science and an MSc in Strength and Conditioning, with over 20 years of coaching from Paralympic medallists to complete beginners.
